It sounds like after an 18 year break, you and your ex-boyfriend started talking again. I’m not sure how this talking began — whether he initiated it or you did — but after two months of talking without dating, you sent him a box of gifts and mementos and he disappeared. Maybe he was just testing the waters and your gift to him felt like more of a commitment than he wanted. Or else maybe he just met someone else and got busy with them.
The bottom line is that he’s gone and and has been for three months now. It’s important for you not to get caught up in something that wasn’t. It’s great to catch up with old friends and even old boyfriends, but you still have to keep your eye on the ball and not get invested in someone who isn’t really interested. Whether or not you missed cues during those two months you were talking, the bottom line is that there’s no mistaking his absence now.
Time to move on and find Mr. Right. He’s not that guy — but someone is, and he’s out there waiting for you! So get out there and be available! 😀
