First of all, I never recommend competing with your friend to get so skinny you’re anorexic, but if your weight is bothering you and if you think THAT’S the reason you’re not getting the guy, then work on it! Exercise, eating right and cutting out junk food are all great ways to look better, feel better and live better, so instead of ignoring a problem, deal with it head on.
Second of all, competition in the dating world is a fact of life! You can’t keep your friend away from the guy you like. What you have to do is show him your best self! The confident, flirty, admirable parts of your character that will give him the opportunity to think, “Hey, she’s a great girl — I want to date her!!”
Third, if he isn’t into you — and you’re being the best person you can be — then accept that not everyone is going to want to date you — and YOU’RE not going to want to date guys just because they’re interested in you. Rejection isn’t always a slap in the face — sometimes it’s a gift to guide you away from guys who aren’t interested so you don’t have to waste time where the door is shut, and TOWARDS guys who ARE interested in you!
