I’m not sure why you’re confused since this isn’t a traditional relationship to begin with! If you want a dating relationship then you have to choose a man who will actually date you. The internet is a GREAT way to get to know guys, but it’s not a good place to conduct a relationship — and then have one massive five day date, a year late! 😳 His behavior isn’t inconsistent — he acts like he doesn’t want a serious relationship and he’s backing that behavior up with consistent conversation. [i]You[/i] are the one who wants a regular relationship but behaves differently. 😮
My advice is to be honest with yourself that you want a boyfriend you can spend time with who wants to be in the same kind of relationship you want — and then go find that kind of guy. If you want an apple and choose an orange, it’s not going to ever taste like an apple! So go find what you’re looking for and leave this guy to pursue other women who want complicated relationships.
