Hi I posted this yesterday but I don’t see it on the forum so i’ll try again. I have been with my boyfriend for over a year now and we agreed a long time ago that strip clubs was out of the question. but somehow my boyfriend thinks its ok to go now and he wants to because its his friend who he has known for a long time. Strippers and strip clubs disgust me and in my opinion any guy who has a girlfriend should have enough respect for her to not go look at strippers. Now that my bf wants to go i’m extremely upset because now he isnt sticking with the promise he made to me from the beginning. I will feel like he is degrading our relationship by doing this. what should i tell him and what should i do?

Tell him how you feel about breaking the promises and the fact that he is going to ogle at some stripper. Tell him how would HE FEEL if you and your girl friends are enjoying at some male stripper club and you insist to go there because your friends are really important. Seriously, there are soooo many other places to go.. but why strip club?

Rather than debate the morality of strip clubs, why not just agree that you’re not compatible when it comes to this area of life, and that it’s a deal breaker for you. You’ve already told him how you feel and he promised not to go to the strip clubs. He broke his promise and insists on going, all the while telling you you’re wrong to think ill of the clubs. I think this is pretty clear. You’re not going to change his mind. He’s not going to change yours. I don’t see the compromise here. He’s not your Mr. Right. YOUR particular Mr. Right doesn’t go to strip clubs. This guy does. Time for a change in YOUR life!
