Ex’s bday in 2 days… No contact for a while now (Mid June) Other than a “mutual rejection”/apology letter the last week in July. she replied the next day to my letter saying “You know I dont dislike you at all, I just can’t take your intense behavior”. I still need space for now.”

Okay so it’s over, I don’t think there are any bitter feelings on either side, I’m dating other people and she has a boyfriend now.

Question: No contact or a short “Happy Birthday” email? I don’t want to look like I am fishing for a response, but at the same time, I don’t want to look bitter or stubborn by ignoring her birthday. It’s this Thursday so I’m thinking maybe Friday…but still kind of leaning toward no contact.

Since I’m almost certain we will run into each other eventually (living just a few blocks and having mutual friends) I guess the goal is not so much reconciliation (at least now) but as little awkwardness as possbile.

My vote is no contact. You’ve both moved on, so let it be that way. It allows you to both feel you’ve both moved on and it eliminates any confusion that either one of you may have as a result of a birthday contact at this time. 😉
