Member #6,525I like this girl and she reciprocated mainly by: looking at me more (mostly when I’m not looking at her and sometimes while giggling), mimicking me, talked/asked questions about me with friends and some relatives, occasionally showed concern for me (ex. if I have a bad cough), her friends acted differently around me, sometimes she blushed/pouted around me, reacted when I would say “I love…”, etc. She also started to smile at me more and her friends were encouraging her to talk to me. Last time she still showed these signs; mainly looking at me (which became passing glances later on) and still seemed uneasy around me. She mentioned to her mom about how have I still haven’t done anything and they briefly commented on a one word answer I gave them before they briefly left the house.
This continued until some point at dinner, when she began to talk to me more and ask me questions. There were still some difficulties for both of us. Shortly after dinner, I heard her say to her friend on the computer: “I thought he was high” and soon after, how she thought something would end. The latter could have been them talking about her favorite show (her friend also likes it) which was coming on later. The former might have been about the way I had seemed more open myself. She was also mimicking me and did so throughout the night.
Her brother (a good friend of mine) and I decided to get their mom and her involved in card games. When we went to get them, she was playing with her dog. She seemed at ease and when her dog brought the ball to me, she wanted me to throw it for a short distance. The games made her really upbeat and she became heavily involved (especially with the trivia). All earlier communication problems with her were gone as well. She was laughing real loudly, though mostly because of her mom. Usually, games do the same for me too. To a lesser extent it did, until we switched to trivia. From that point, I began to hesitate more and when I did say something, it rarely got the reaction I expected.
Then her show came on. Since I never really saw it before, I still barely said a word. I was also becoming very tired. She commented to her parents on how appealing a few of the actors are. Her parents looked over at me occasionally throughout the show. Thanks to her dad’s confusion with the show, I admitted that I’m unfamiliar with it. She understood, but my reply only restated what she said in a more positive way earlier and I trailed off. Her focus went back to her dad until her and her mom heard a noise outside and I commented on it. The last I saw her, we were alone and I said “excuse me” to get by her. She didn’t say much, but maybe she was tired.
None of these signs are new, just more profound. Her mom must’ve told her more about my mom’s urgent medical issue, which wasn’t as certain weeks before. At that time, I was upset and it showed. I heard her crying and before she left for the night, she seemed uncertain. Both might’ve had an impact.

April Masini, your AskAprilKeymasterI guess your question is the title of your post, and the answer is that the status you have with this girl is that you like her, but you haven’t asked her out on a date yet. What are you waiting for? 😉 I hope that helps! Please follow me @AskAprilcom on Twitter.

Member #6,525I know that I like her, but does she still like me? Even if she does, the way I’ve acting elsewhere lately and the poor performance I had that night is making me look like an idiot. I don’t think I’m capable of making this work anymore. May 5, 2011 at 12:02 am #17635
